If your friends already use one app, check its private-table flow first. If you are choosing for a particular variation, check that mode's current help and availability before switching. This comparison uses official product descriptions checked on 24 September 2026; it is not a device performance test or a rating of dealing fairness.
Check the app identity before comparing features
Similar Teen Patti names and icons can make two unrelated downloads look connected. Use the publisher and Android package identifier together. The package appears after id= in the Google Play link.
| Identity check | Teen Patti Gold | Teen Patti Octro |
|---|---|---|
| Publisher shown on Google Play | Moonfrog | Octro, Inc. |
| Android package | com.teenpatti.hd.gold |
com.octro.teenpatti |
| Official Android listing | Gold on Google Play | Octro on Google Play |
| Publisher website | Teen Patti Gold | Teen Patti Octro |
| Store monetisation labels | Ads and in-app purchases | Ads and in-app purchases |
A package identifier is an identity clue, not proof that an independently downloaded APK is unmodified. For this comparison, use the linked official listings. If a listing is unavailable for your device or location, read the displayed reason instead of substituting a similarly named file. Our download safety guide explains the distinction.
What their published features tell you
Gold's listing describes several card games, including Teen Patti, poker, rummy and Andar Bahar, alongside private tables and language options. Octro's listing advertises private tables and named variations such as AK47, 321, 6 Patti and Revolving Joker. These are publisher descriptions, not confirmation that every mode is immediately available to every account.
| Your priority | Useful starting point | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| Play with an existing friend group | The app the group already uses | Invite method, entry requirements and whether everyone can join |
| Try Octro's named variations | Its official mode guides | Current availability and the exact rules in the installed version |
| Keep several card games in one app | Gold's published game list | Whether the games you want are accessible on your account |
| Read comfortably in Hindi | The app's current language menu | Table help, prompts and support—not just the home screen |
| Keep play simple | The clearest table and help screen for you | How easy it is to leave a table, mute prompts and find rules |
A feature name is only a starting point. For example, “private table” does not explain which sign-in method is needed, whether a minimum virtual balance applies or how friends are invited. Check the actual flow before asking a whole group to move.
Compare the rules for the mode you will use
Both apps concern Teen Patti, but that does not make every table interchangeable. Before joining, identify whether you are playing classic rules or a variant. Check the ace-sequence order, wild cards, blind/seen requirements and show conditions.
Even within one publisher's documentation, different modes can have different rules. Octro's classic and 6 Patti sections give different precedence to AKQ and A23. That example is a reason to read the correct section, not a finding that one entire app uses one ace order forever.
Use a small comparison sheet: write the app, mode name, ace order, joker rule and exact-tie rule in separate columns. If a field is unclear, leave it unresolved until the in-app help or support clarifies it. Our hand-ranking guide and tie examples explain which questions to ask.
A practical side-by-side check on your own phone
You do not need to buy chips to compare basic usability. Use only no-purchase options actually offered to your account, and skip a table if trying it requires a payment you did not intend to make.

- Record the phone model, operating system, app versions and date. Keep the same connection and similar background-app conditions for both sessions.
- Find each app's rules and language settings. Note whether the rule text itself is readable, not just whether a Hindi label exists.
- Try locating a private table with a willing friend. Record the steps and any stated entry requirement without paying merely to complete the comparison.
- Observe one short session in a comparable classic mode, if available. Note text size, button clarity and interruptions. Keep voluntary reward ads separate from other interruptions in your notes.
- Find account help and the way to leave the table. Confirm where to seek support before making an optional purchase.
These steps are a test plan, not results we measured. A short session cannot establish long-term connection reliability or whether a dealing system is fair. Winning or losing several hands also cannot support a reliable claim about an app's win rate.
Chips, purchases and accounts: keep them separate
Both publishers describe their products as social games without real-money gambling or cash-prize opportunities. Virtual chip balances should therefore not be treated as withdrawable earnings. An optional in-app purchase can still cost actual money; “no cash prizes” does not mean every action in the app is free.
Do not compare a million virtual chips in one game with a million in another as if they were the same currency. Entry requirements, events and consumption rules may differ. The more useful question is whether the no-purchase experience lets you use the mode you actually want.
Do not assume your login identity, progress or balance will transfer between different publishers. Before changing phones or removing an app, identify the account's current sign-in method and the publisher's recovery instructions. A third party promising to move chips is not evidence of an official transfer feature. For Gold, start with our login help guide.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the app that passes your essential checks, rather than the one with the longest feature list. For a weekly friend session, the ability for everyone to join the same private table is more important than an unused variant. For learning a named variation, clear mode-specific rules are more valuable than a headline chip bonus.
If both pass, compare comfort: readable cards, understandable prompts, an acceptable number of interruptions and easily found support. If neither passes a requirement, you do not have to force a choice. For a group in the same room, the physical-card offline guide offers a different way to practise without an app.
Frequently asked questions
Are Gold and Octro the same game or company?
They share the Teen Patti game family, but the listings identify different publishers and packages. Treat them as separate products.
Which one is faster or uses less data?
We have not measured either app on matched hardware and versions. Store descriptions cannot establish a fair performance comparison. Use the same-device procedure above for your own needs.
Can Gold players join an Octro private table directly?
Do not assume cross-app private tables. Ask the group to identify the exact app and mode used for the invitation, then follow that publisher's joining instructions.
Which app guarantees more wins?
This comparison makes no such claim. Feature descriptions, recent personal results and advertised chip amounts do not prove a higher chance of winning.
